The procedure for cancellation of the suspension of periods associated with stay and residence of foreigners in Russia
Decree of the President of Russia dated June 15, 2021 No. 364 "On temporary measures to settle the legal status of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Russia during the period of overcoming the consequences of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19)" the previously suspended terms related to the stay and residence of foreign citizens on the territory of Russia have been extended, namely, they are suspended after 90 days from the date of commencement of transport links with the corresponding foreign state (for more details, see our news).
- terms of temporary stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons;
- the terms for which such citizens are registered at the place of stay;
- the validity periods of visas and migration cards with marks in it;
- terms of validity of permits for temporary residence in Russia and residence permits valid as of March 15, 2020;
- within a 6-month period of stay outside Russia, necessary for the cancellation of a temporary residence permit, residence permit or work permit for a HQS.
At the same time, clause 6 of the Decree of the President of Russia dated June 15, 2021 No. 364 establishes that the list of foreign states in respect of which the temporary restrictions on transport communications introduced by Russia have been lifted (indicating the date of lifting such restrictions) is approved by the Government of Russia.
Until recently, it was considered that the date of the lifting of transport restrictions is the date of the resumption of air traffic, adopted by the headquarters, and that it is from this date that a period of 90 days should be counted, after which the suspension of the above terms ends.
However, during a press conference at Izvestia, the head of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Lieutenant General Valentina Kazakova, said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not consider the opening of air traffic to remove all transport restrictions, and that a special government act should be expected.
At the same time, it is curious that, in addition to restricting air traffic, our country did not establish other transport restrictions (read more in our news).
