The rules of medical care for foreign citizens on the territory of RF are approved by the Government Regulation № 546 as of the 1st of September, 2005.
- Medical care for foreign citizens temporarily or permanently staying on the territory of Russia is provided by medical and preventive treatment facilities without reference to their legal entity;
- Acute care is provided free of charge and without delay;
- Emergency medical care for foreign citizens is provided by medical and preventive treatment facilities of State health care system and by specialists and by persons obliged to provide first-aid by law or special rule in case of states of life-threatening or requiring urgent medical intervention (consequences of accidents, traumas and intoxication). Routine medical care can be provided for foreign citizens after leaving these states;
- Routine medical care is provided for foreign citizens on a fee basis;
- Routine medical care is provided for foreign citizens in case of not life-threatening health disorder according to paid medical services contract or agreement of voluntary/compulsory health insurance;
- Routine medical care is provided to f foreign citizen after he presents necessary medical documentation (excerpt from the history of the disease, clinical, X-ray, laboratory and other examinations), and provision of warranty obligation to pay actual cost of medical care and make an advance payment for treatment in the estimated volume;
- After the treatment, the foreign employee’s excerpt from the history of the disease is sent to the person or legal entity representing the interests of the foreign employee. Duration of stay in the hospital, conducted diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations are reflected there.
- The invoice for actually provided medical care is sent to the person or legal entity representing the interests of a foreign citizen within 10 days after completion of treatment.
