The temporary restrictions of border traffic between Russia and Finland will prolongate until August 25 30.07.2020

The Finnish government decided on July 23, 2020 to extend temporary restrictions on border traffic between Russia and Finland until at least August 25, 2020. This is released on the page of the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg.

"Restrictions on cross-border traffic, which means restrictions on traffic between Russia and Finland, will be extended until at least August 25, 2020. Additional information on the opening of the external borders of the Schengen area for tourism, including the border section between Finland and Russia, is currently missing," the Finnish foreign Ministry said in a recent report.

Restrictions on crossing the external border of Finland are removed when the incidence of coronavirus is no more than eight cases per 100,000 people and remains for at least two weeks.
The media office of the Finnish Border guard has updated the guide for entering the country in accordance with the decision of the State Council.

Return to Finland is allowed across the external borders. In particular, family members of Finnish citizens can enter the country regardless of their citizenship. In addition, the right to return to Finland can be used by citizens of the Republic of Finland, as well as by foreigners who have a residence permit in Finland.
