The government of Belarus imposed restrictions on exit from the country 28.12.2020

A temporary restriction on exit from Belarus via land border checkpoints has been introduced for Belarusian nationals and foreign residents as of Dec 20, 2020.

These changes are introduced by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 705 of December 07, 2020 "On amendments to resolutions of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 208 of April 8, 2020 and No. 624 of October 30, 2020".
 
The changes are below:
 
1. Temporary restriction on exit from Belarus via land border checkpoints has been introduced for Belarusian nationals and foreign nationals holding temporary or permanent residence permits.
 
The restriction does not apply to:
 
- those who leave Belarus via airplane;
- specific categories listed in the resolution (such as holders of diplomatic and official passports, members of official delegations, those on assignment in another country, those leaving for medical aid etc.).
 
The exit may be allowed in exceptional circumstances with the decision of the Chairman of the State Border Committee or an authorised official. Individuals who leave Belarus for the place of permanent residence or for the purpose of education or employment are allowed to do so once in 6 months.
 
2. Citizens of Belarus and foreigners who arrive in Belarus from countries listed on the official website or the Ministry of Health of Belarus must self-isolate for 10 calendar days after arrival and may not leave the country until this term expires.
 
3. Foreigners aged 6 or older who arrive in Belarus must present original or copy of a paper or electronic document confirming the negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19 (with exception to temporary or permanent residents and some specific categories):
- the test must be carried out not later than 3 days before entry to Belarus (including the date of entry);
- the document must contain full name, date and result of test in Belarusian, Russian or English.
