Resuming of renewing US visas without the need for an interview 03.03.2021

U.S. Mission in Russia has started accepting interview waiver applications for C1/D, F, M, P-1 and P-4 visas.

Starting from March 1, 2021 submission of a limited number of interview waiver applications for B1/B2 visas will resume. Interview waiver applications for B1/B2 visas will be reviewed only by Consulate General in Yekaterinburg at this point of time, submission is proceeded only with preliminary registration.

We draw your attention to the fact that the preliminary registration for the re-issuance of a B1 / B2 visa without an interview in Yekaterinburg is limited, places appear rarely and in limited quantities and are sorted out extremely quickly.

You may submit your visa application at U.S. Visa document delivery locations operated by VFS Global or in selected Russia post location as an interview waiver submission and proceed without a consular interview if you meet all of the following qualifications:

  1. All ten fingerprints were captured at a prior consular interview;
  2. Your most recent visa is currently valid or you are applying within 23 months of the expiration of that visa (a temporary measure until the end of March 2021, it may be prolonged, earlier this period was 11 months);
  3. You are applying for the exact same type of visa as your current/previous visa;
  4. Your visa does not have Clearance Received annotated on it;
  5. You must be present in the Russian Federation.

Delivery of passports is carried out by courier service VFS Global or Russian Post and is made only to certain offices.

The possibility of submitting documents in person with an interview at the US Consulates in Russia is still limited.
