Russian citizens arriving from abroad will be required to take the COVID-19 test twice 22.04.2021

Following the news about new rules established by Rospotrebnadzor for citizens arriving in Russia, we inform you that on 21 April 2021 the Decree of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation of 16.04.2021 № 13 will come into force. This Decree amends the Decree of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation of 18.03.2020 № 7 "On ensuring isolation regime to prevent spread of COVID-2019".

The adopted provisions establish new obligations for all Russian citizens arriving in the territory of the Russian Federation by any means of transport. Thus, it is necessary to undergo an additional secondary laboratory examination for COVID-19 by PCR method for the following persons:
  • those arriving from Turkey and Tanzania before May 1, 2021 inclusive;
  • those arriving from any foreign country after May 1, 2021.
The test must be completed within 5 calendar days of entry and the results must be uploaded to the Public Services portal. The interval between the first and second laboratory test for COVID-19 by PCR must be at least one day.

In addition, random COVID-19 testing of foreign nationals and stateless persons will be organised at airports.
