Russia and Namibia reach agreement to relax visa requirements 29.04.2021

An Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Namibia on Mutual Waiver of Visa Requirements for Russian and Namibian Citizens was signed on 14 April 2021 in Widhuk.

Citizens of both countries will be able to enter, leave, transit and stay in the territory of the other state without a visa for up to 90 calendar days during each period of 180 days, counted from the date of their first entry on the basis of a travel document.

For citizens of the Russian Federation, the travel document may be a diplomatic, official or international passport. For citizens of the Republic of Namibia, a diplomatic, official or general civil passport.

The Agreement emphasises that visa-free entry of nationals of one country into the territory of another does not entitle them to temporary or permanent residence, work or study, unless permission has been granted in advance by the competent authorities of the receiving state.

The agreement will enter into force once the countries have completed all the necessary domestic procedures.
