From 25 May, Russia resumes flight connections with Iceland, Malta, Mexico, Portugal and Saudi Arabia 17.05.2021

On 14 May 2021, at a meeting of the Operational headquarters for preventing the spread of coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation, as reported on the official website of the Russian Government, it was decided to resume on a reciprocal basis international air traffic with the following countries:
  • Iceland (Moscow – Reykjavik twice a week);
  • Malta (Moscow –  Valletta twice a week); 
  • Mexico (Moscow – Cancun three times a week);
  • Portugal (Moscow –  Lisbon three times a week);
  • Saudi Arabia (Moscow – Jeddah three times a week; Grozny – Jeddah once a week; Makhachkala – Jeddah once a week).
In addition, it was decided to increase the number of regular flights to South Korea, Finland and Japan. Flights to foreign countries from the international airports of Omsk, Syktyvkar, Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk and Ulan-Ude will also be resumed.
 
At the same time, the list of categories of foreign nationals who can take advantage of the open air traffic and enter the territory of Russia is approved by the Russian Government Decree of 16.03.2020 N 635-p (ed. 14.04.2021), and currently it is not aligned with the new decision of the Operational headquarters on the opening of the air traffic.
