On November 23, 2012 a draft of the law "On changes to the article 322 of the Criminal Code of Russia and articles 150 and 151 of the Code of criminal procedure" has been introduced to the State Duma.
According to the changes to the Criminal Code of Russia on a foreign citizen crossing the Russian border, in case he/she was officially prohibited to enter Russia earlier, the following criminal liability can be imposed:
- penalty within the amount of 300 000 Rubles;
- or compulsory works for the period up to 4 years;
- or imprisonment for the period of up to 4 years.
For the same actions committed by the group of persons under the prior conspiracy or by an organized group of persons committed a crime with violence or with the threat of it the imprisonment for the period of up to 6 years can be imposed.
