The Portuguese Embassy in Moscow resumes issuing visas 01.07.2021

On June 28, the Portuguese Embassy in Moscow began issuing Schengen visas for a short period for citizens of the Russian Federation who could not use the previously issued visas due to a pandemic, flight cancellations, border closures, as well as to holders of Schengen visas previously issued for a period of at least two years and used in accordance with the established rules.

In addition, BLS visa centers are also resuming work in Russia; they are open from 09:00 to 16:00 on weekdays. Submission of documents is possible only by appointment. Visas that have already been paid but not used are not subject to re-payment. In such cases, only the visa center’s fee will be paid.

Please note that obtaining a new visa does not automatically entitle you to enter the country. Travel to Portugal is still permitted for the following reasons: humanitarian, business, academic or public interest. In addition, all arriving passengers must have a PCR test in English or Portuguese, done no later than 72 hours before departure, and fill out a special form.
