Indonesia tightens entry rules for foreigners 07.07.2021

In response to a sharp increase in the spread of COVID-19, Indonesia is tightening entry regulations for foreign tourists from 6 July, Interfax reported, citing the Indonesian tourism office.

Foreign tourists will now have to present a certificate of full vaccination, undergo two PCR tests and spend eight days in quarantine to enter the country.

The report further emphasises that the Russian Sputnik V vaccine is not recognised in Indonesia and does not allow entry into the country.

In addition, according to the Indonesian tourism office, from 3 to 21 July, all Indonesian tourist destinations and holiday areas are closed.

It is also noted that if a visitor is found to have coronavirus, they will be sent to a hospital or a "covid" hotel for a two-week period at their own expense.
