Rosaviatsia denies airlines permission to fly to Egyptian resorts 22.07.2021

As we wrote earlier, Vladimir Putin canceled the decree banning direct flights to Egyptian resorts, which had been in effect since 2015.

However, despite the cancellation of the decree, the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosavatsiya) rejected all airline applications for flights from Russian cities to the airports of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

Ten Russian air carriers, namely Russia, Ural Airlines, Nordwind airlines, Azur Air, Yakutia, S7, iFly, IrAero, Azimut and NordStar, requested more than 230 admissions, which they were denied.

The agency commented on this situation as follows: "The refusal to allow airlines to operate regular flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh is due to the lack of recommendations of the operational headquarters to combat the spread of the new coronavirus infection in terms of the frequency and number of flights to Egyptian resorts."

In addition, the Federal Air Transport Agency recalled that the decision to issue passes is not a basis or a decision to resume flights on international routes specified in the order. Admission is the right of the airline, which it can use when resuming flights.
