A new project to attract citizens of Uzbekistan to Russia 26.10.2021

Mikhail Mishustin signed the Decree of the Government of Russia dated 06.10.2021 No. 1694 "On the implementation of a pilot project to attract citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan to carry out temporary work with Russian legal entities carrying out economic activities in the construction sector, and on amending the order of the Government of Russia of March 16 2020 No. 635-r ".

The Government of Russia has decided to implement a project to attract citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan to work for Russian construction companies. In addition to the Government of Russia many ministries and departments are involved in this project, such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Health, etc.

The goal of this project is to help the industry most dependent on foreign labor in Russia, which was left without workers after the pandemic.

At the same time, it is planned to attract no more than 10 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan, and in order to reduce the load on the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Sakharovo, the basic procedures, such as fingerprinting registration, photographing, checking documents, etc., such citizens will take place on the territory of Uzbekistan.

It is also interesting that, according to this resolution, the citizens of Uzbekistan:
  • do not have to undergo the mandatory 14-day isolation upon arrival;
  • must not have a negative test result for a new coronavirus infection with them if they have been vaccinated with Sputnik Light more than 14 days ago.
