United list of documents for Schengen visa
The Diplomatic missions of Schengen countries have introduced the united list of documents for Schengen visa obtaining.

After an official regulation come into force, all Consulates and visa centers of Schengen countries, operating in Russia will accept documents for visa in accordance with the above-mentioned list. These changes will let applicants avoid visa formalities and presenting the additional documents. The visa requirements of Schengen countries significantly differ and can often complicate visa obtaining process.

To Croatia with Schengen visa
According to the decision of the Government of Croatia as of December 20, 2012, starting from January 01, 2013 those foreign citizens, who have valid Schengen residence permits, Schengen visas (type C) and multiple long term visas (type D) can enter Croatia on the basis of these permits/visas without any additional entry documents obtaining. This regime will be applicable until Croatia joins the EU.

The above-mentioned permits/visas shall be valid during the whole period of stay and by the moment of departure.

U.S. and Russia have reduced consulate fee
Starting from January 01, 2013 the Consulate fee for US citizens, intended to visit Russia with business, private, humanitarian and tourist purposes has been reduced up to $160 (instead $180).

Starting from January 01, 2013 the U.S. Department of State has also abolished $20 additional fee, which has previously been charged for Russian citizens, applying for US visa.

Multiple entry visas to Czech Republic in 2013
Starting from January 01, 2013 applicants for tourist/medical treatment visas can be granted not only singly entry visas but also multiple entry visas.

According to the information, published on the official website of visa center of the Czech Republic, applicant for multiple entry visa for tourism/medical treatment should confirm that he/she has been granted at least 2 single entry Schengen visas or 1 multiple entry visa (90 days for 1 year minimum) which he/she has used (it is also required to enclose copies of these visas). In this case, the Consulate can assume that the next multiple entry visa will be used for the purpose intended. Such multiple entry visas will be granted for 1 year, number of days – 90.

Multiple entry visas to Slovakia
Citizens of Russian and Ukraine will be granted 5 years multiple entry visas to Slovakia on simplified conditions.
According to Vice Prime-Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Laichak, these changes will concern applicants for tourist, private, business and student visas. “The decision has been made to satisfy multiple demands of tourists, entrepreneurs, local authorities as well as different organizations” – said Mr. Laichak

Russian citizens will be able to get 2 year multiple entry Schengen visas. If an applicant has already obtained and properly used a Schengen visa, he/she will be granted 5 years multiple entry visas.
According to the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, visa can be granted to applicants within 48 hours.

In some peculiar cases, the period of processing shall be not more than 5 years.

German visa center has been opened in Moscow
On January 11, 2013 the first Visa Application Centre of the German Embassy has been opened in Moscow (Shabolovka, 31, m. Shabolovskaya). The visa center accepts documents for visas from Monday to Friday from 08.30 until 17.00 (except national holidays). Prior appointment is needed.

You can also apply for visa to the Visa section of the German Embassy in Moscow. Prior appointment is obligatory. The Consulates' and Visa Centers appointment dates are available in the section Useful Information on our website https://www.confidencegroup.ru/default.aspx?sid=174

According to Ulrich Brandenburg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotent of Germany in Russia, the visa center will let applicants avoid huge queues for making prior appointment; visa formalities will be also simplified.

German visa centers will be opened in other regions of Russia soon: on February 01, 2013 in Ekaterinburg, in spring 2013 in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Nizhniy Novgorod and Saratov.

New application forms for UK visas
New application forms for General (Tourist, Business), Exceptional talent, Investor, Graduate entrepreneur, Entrepreneur and visas have been published on the official website of UK Border Agency (UKBA).

The applicants, who have already applied for one of above mentioned types of visas, should not use previously generated forms. They should fill in the new application.
