On May 24, 2013 the State Duma of Russia has adopted on the first reading the draft law "On changes to the Federal law on "Procedures of foreign citizens” entry to the Russian Federation and exit from the Russian Federation" and Federal law on "Legal status of foreign citizens in Russia".
In addition to the previously established regulations, the document determines the 10-year period of prohibition of entry and stay in Russia for those foreign citizens who:
- have been subsequently subjected to administrative liability during the 3-year period
- have been repeatedly subjected to deportation or readmission;
- have an unspent or not cancelled conviction for committing intentional crimes.
