Members of the CPRF faction have developed and introduced to The State Duma a draft law that would complicate the employment of foreign citizens from visa-free countries in Russia.
To enter and work in Russia from January 1, 2014 foreign citizens from visa-free may need a special work visa, which is now given to the foreign citizens from visa countries.
The draft law is expected to contribute to the effective protection of employment rights of Russian citizens, the rights and legitimate interests of migrant workers, and promote the rapprochement of CIS countries within the Eurasian Economic Community, the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space.
The changes stated in the draft law will not affect the status of foreign citizens - highly qualified specialists (HQS).

The law may come into force from January 1, 2014.
