New requirements for obtaining work permits in Moscow 02.10.2009

Starting from September 14, 2009 in order to obtain work permit in Moscow for the citizens from visa countries an employer should present to FMS the notary registered and translated into Russian Appostille of the foreign citizen’s educational certificate (Diploma).

Please consider some useful information on how to get it:

  • Appostille of the educational certificate can be made only in the country on the territory of which it was issued;
  • The organizations which make the Appostilles differ from country to country. In some countries it a city administration in other Courts of appeal.
  • In some countries in case a foreign citizen for some reasons can not apply for an Appostille to the organization in the city where the educational institution is located he can apply to the corresponding organization located in the capital of the country.
  • In some cases the documents for Appostille procedure can be sent to the corresponding organization by courier services;
  • To apply for an Appostille the original educational certificate is needed. The period for Apostille processing differs and depends on the organization’s location;
  • The peculiarities of the Appostille processing can be checked by telephone at the Embassy of the country of educational certificate’s issue located on the territory of Russia;
  • To apply for a work permit an employer or a foreign citizen should translate and notary register the Appostille.
