Independent tourists travelling to Egypt should receive visas beforehand
According to newspaper “Kommersant” starting from May 15, 2015 tourists travelling to Egypt should contact Egypt’s embassy for receiving visas beforehand. This order is related only for independent tourists. For tourists travelling in groups everything remains the same.
Child’s foreign passport within one day
According to FMS press service starting from May 18, 2015 children under 14 years will be able to obtain foreign passport for one day in Moscow. It is supposed that this service will be appreciated by tourists because of coming summer.
The cost of foreign passport for a child is the following:
- biometric data passport-1,500 RUR;
- passport of old format-1,000 RUR.

Thailand will be issuing multiple entry visas
According to Thailand’s prime-minister starting from December 2015 it is planned to issue multi entry visas with the period of validity up to six month and up to one year. Tourists can obtain the following visas while entering.
We would like to remind you that at the moment Russian citizens can stay on Thailand’s territory up to 60 days without a visa. Tourists can stay on Thailand’s territory 30 days without a visa and then they should extend their period of stay up to 30 days.
New convenient service for applicants obtaining foreign passports in Moscow
Moscow government launched convenient service for applicants obtaining foreign passports. Now it is possible to know about its readiness by SMS. It is necessary to subscribe for SMS while applying for a passport.
If you want to know about passport’s readiness you should send SMS with the word “zagranpassport” as well as series and passport number on the basis of which you apply for a passport at 7377. Moreover, you can call at *377*3*5*3# and follow voice mail indications.
If you want to refuse from SMS you should send “zagranstop” as well as series and passport number at 7377.
New service is free of charge.
Dactyloscopy procedure while applying for visa to Spain
According to Spain Embassy starting from September 16, 2015 dactyloscopy procedure is necessary while submitting documents for Spain visa. All ten fingerprints are made at any visa center of Schengen countries during first application for visa and are valid up to 5 years for any other applications.
Dactyloscopy procedure is obligatory for all Russian citizens under 14 years. It is impossible to make fingerprints without submitting documents for a visa.
Increasing of period of consideration of documents for Greek visa
The period of consideration of documentsfor Greek visa in Moscow can be increased due to increased seasonal number of tourists.
At the moment there may be delays with issuing visas so documents must be submitted in advance.
Greek embassy didn’t make official notification and in most cases it is possible to obtain visa in 4 working days.
Germany introduced border control during G7 summit
Starting from May 26 to June 15, 2015 Germany introduces border control with other Schengen countries due to G7 summit. Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs bewared Russian citizens on necessity to have passport and documents conforming the right to stay while crossing German borders from other Schengen countries.
German police mentioned that such border control measures were successfully used in 2006 during FIFA World Cup and in 2007 during G8 summit in Heiligendamm.
Russia will introduce the list of children who are forbidden to leave the country
FMS of Russia made a draft law prohibited parents to include their children in the list of forbidden to travel abroad. According to this draft law if one parent would like to do it he/she should contact to court. At the moment one parent can apply to FMS and a child can be included in the list of forbidden to travel abroad.
As experiment Moscow FMS is planning to launch online register of children who can’t leave the country because of one parent’s prohibition. It is supposed that such system will allow the other parent to quickly find whether they can go with the child abroad or not.
At the moment one of child’s legal representatives should contact FMS if they want to know about such prohibition. Consideration of such application takes up to 30 days.
