From August 9, 2021, Russia resumes flights with three countries, and also allows flights to Egypt 28.07.2021

Following the meeting, the operational headquarter for the prevention of the importation and spread of a new coronavirus infection in the territory of Russia decided to open air communication with Bahrain, Dominican Republic and Moldova from August 9, 2021.

Flights will be operated in the following directions:
  • Bahrain: Moscow-Manama;
  • Dominican Republic: Moscow - Punta Cana, Moscow - La Romana, Moscow - Puerto Plata;
  • Moldova: Moscow-Chișinău.
Besides this, it was announced the opening of new air routes to Egypt, namely to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.

For now, the flights will be operated five times a week from Moscow. However, the Minister of Civil Aviation of the Arab Republic, Mohammed Manar Inaba, said that the Egyptian leadership expects the arrival of a Russian delegation on July 27, 2021 to assess the epidemic situation in the country before resuming flights between Russia and Egyptian resorts on August 9, 2021. This could lead to an increase in the number of flights per week, and to the opening of flights from other cities of Russia.
