In connection with the threat of the spread of the new COVID-19 strain "omicron", the operational headquarters to prevent the import and spread of a new coronavirus infection on the territory of Russia made a decision from November 28, 2021 to restrict the entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons living or staying for 10 days in the following countries:

  • South Africa;
  • Botswana;
  • Lesotho;
  • Namibia;
  • Zimbabwe;
  • Mozambique;
  • Madagascar;
  • Eswatini;
  • Tanzania;
  • Hong Kong.
Russians arriving from the countries listed above, as well as all persons arriving from Israel, China and the UK, will undergo rapid testing for COVID-19.

In addition, it was decided to extend the suspension of flights with Tanzania until February 1, 2022.

We draw your attention to the fact that at the moment there is no official order of the Government of Russia on this issue, in connection with which the procedure for calculating 10 days has not been clarified or which categories of citizens this prohibition applies to. We are in the process of clarifying these conditions and will inform you immediately.
