The Central Bank of Russia has published the main directions for the development of the financial market of Russia until 2024, where one of the directions indicated: the issue of a "biometric" method for identifying foreign citizens and stateless persons, including without visiting Russia.
The purpose of the development of this area is to simplify the task of identifying non-residents (especially labor migrants) for migration control and obtaining financial services by foreign citizens, as well as health insurance and patents. In addition, banks will be able to develop their new products, such as international transfers.
The State Duma of Russia may adopt this bill as early as next year.
