A bill on the simplified the entry Russian citizenship for persons from NATO and Ukraine was submitted to the State Duma 14.03.2022

Bill No. 85030-8 “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Citizenship of Russia” has been submitted to the State Duma of Russia, which assumes that, with an application for admission to citizenship in Russia in a simplified manner, the following categories of citizens:
  • persons permanently residing in the territory of a member country of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the event of an application before December 31, 2022 of their desire to apply for citizenship of Russia, and also subject to proficiency in Russian or if there is at least one parent whose place of birth is the territory of the RSFSR or Russia;
  • persons permanently residing on the territory of Ukraine in the event of an application before December 31, 2022 of their desire to apply for citizenship of Russia, as well as subject to knowledge of the Russian language or if there is at least one parent whose place of birth is in the territory of the RSFSR or Russia.
Please note that at the moment this bill is under consideration by the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the procedure for submitting documents has not changed. We are closely monitoring all changes and will inform you about them.
